OPAC vehemently condemns the recent horrific attacks on the Christian community
in Jaranwala, in the eastern provide of Punjab, Pakistan
The Orthodox Public Affairs Committee (OPAC) vehemently condemns the recent horrific attacks on the Christian community in Jaranwala, in the eastern province of Punjab, Pakistan. Every individual, regardless of religious belief, has the right to live peacefully, practice their faith, and contribute to society without the fear of persecution.
We commend the efforts of Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar ul Haq Kakar for his immediate call to action against those responsible for this heinous violence. Such leadership is crucial in upholding the principles of religious freedom and human rights, which form the bedrock of any harmonious society.
OPAC stands with Pakistani Bishop Azad Marshall from the neighboring city of Lahore. We echo his sentiments in “crying out for justice and action” and join him in affirming to the Christians of Pakistan that their lives, their dignity, and their faith are valuable.
In these trying times, we call for swift and transparent justice against anyone involved in these heinous acts of persecution. It is our fervent hope and prayer that peace and interfaith harmony may flourish in all corners of the world.
