The Worldwide Orthodox Christian Church

The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople sits on the throne of the First See of the Eastern Orthodox Church. Together with the other Patriarchs and Archbishops of Alexandria, Antioch (Damascus), Jerusalem, Greece, Cyprus, and the Slavic countries, he shepherds more than 250,000,000 Orthodox Christians. Within Turkey, Syria, Egypt, across Africa and throughout the former Soviet Union, the rights and privileges of Orthodox Christians have been systematically threatened, abrogated and even degraded by state-sponsored pressure. OPAC will advocate for the rights of all these Orthodox Churches and for their free and unobstructed mission.
